The social heart
A members' room with a long table, a log burner, a book swap and the best noticeboard in the county. Coffee mornings weekly, carols annual, quiz contentious. Attendance always, always optional — you're as involved as you feel like being, and never alone unless you'd rather be.

How we think about it
Four words that organise everything we put on. You'll see them against events on every community's timetable — not because we're systematic, but because they're a fair description of a good week.
Bowls, pickleball, the swimming crowd, and a mile of mown path that doesn’t need a car to reach.
The workshop, the allotments, the greenhouse, and whatever you’ve always meant to get round to.
The long table, the quiz, the coffee mornings, and the sort of neighbours who notice your curtains.
The coast path, the bluebell walk, the trips out, and the bench you’ll come to think of as yours.
Open days
Homes open, The Hearth open, residents about and happy to be asked anything. No booking, no sign-in, no follow-up call unless you ask for one.
